Kisso Sushi Bar in Philadelphia

The meals and service were beyond our expectations. I truly enjoyed the ambience of this spot. Excellent place to take the family out for dinner.

Loved the experience. I am somewhat new to sushi but the staff there was outstanding and walked me through a few options and their chefs recommendations. The chef was so happy with how much we liked our food that he also made us a special complementary role. I'm still not the biggest sushi guy, but when I have a need for it, I am only going to go here. Very fresh food. Outstanding service. Decent price.

I love this spot! They provide superb food, their menu is rich, The cook in that place is a professional, I love a lot trying all their food. The food is always tasty, the service towards the customers is helpful. I go often to this restaurant and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend this place.

This restaurant is extraordinary and spacious, the meals was delightful and the rates were very reasonable. fast, effective service and very welcoming waiters. I highly recommend this place.

i had walked by this place so many times but i still didn't know it existed till i found out about it last week. anyway i went there for dinner with my lovely wife and i wan't to say that the dinner was amazing. Everything was fresh and you could see the chef prepping your dish behind the counter. I would highly recommend it and now that i found out i cant wait to be back soon.

Came in at 9:05 after I just saw a couple walk in maybe 5 mins before me... they said there closed, but they close at 9:30 since I guess they changed there hours but google says 10pm. Pretty sure I can eat sushi in 25 mins but I guess they didn’t want our business. Bad experience

Sushi takes a lot of time, and when it arrives it comes very small and arguably doesn't worth its price tag. Service is also not the best.Don't go.

This place is absolutely one of the coolest place in the region. Every time I come there I am profoundly glad. They manage their high standard service and the topmost level of food they serve. You no doubt will love this place. Highly recommended.

Best sushi experience in Philly. Period!

I eat here a lot since I work close by. I love how the service is always fantastic and they keep the place neat all the time. Pricing is fair and they serve sizeable portions.

Best sushi in town

Some of the best sushi I've had in Philadelphia. Restaurant is casual and BYO. Food doesn't disappoint, but the decor isn't incredibly fancy

This is the best sushi I ever had. Fresh. Good service, and a GREAT salad and ice cream. It is smaller but packed a big punch. I would def go here again if I was in the area. I had three different sushi, all were great!

this is my favorite place for sushi. excellent service by the waitstaff at a very convenient location. during your next visit sit at the counter and watch the preparation of the sushi. note: byob(pictured green tea ice cream, half and half maki (the set with lime were perfection) and unaju over rice with a spicy tuna with inari on a separate platter)

Ordered sashimy plater for two and when it arrived we were super shocked! It seemed like one sashimi was cut into 4 pieces. Omg! Such a disappointment and the total came to $65 which overall wasn't worth even $20 based on the amount of the fish that was served. DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant!!!

It amazes me how bad this place is, and how many times I can go to this disaster because someone demands that "it's gotten better". It hasn't. This restaurant has the perfect circle of disappointment; horrible service, laughable portions and mall-quality sushi. If every other sushi place in Old City is not an option and you are starving, if I would strongly suggest the 7-eleven on market street. I cannot better articulate how awful this place is.

Love this place! The Red Snapper carpaccio, half and half roll, Jay roll, and Killer roll are favorites!

This is a gem. BYOB. Excellent, truly exceptional quality fish and preparations. Prepare for some unctuous, front to back palate pleasing to occur here.I highly recommend the mix and match sushi platter. This will give you different fish and presentation profiles that will simply satisfy.Excellent, knowledgeable service. The best place is to be seated at the bar and to watch the magic happen.This is Philadelphia's best, and one of this country's top, sushi restaurants. I've long said that. Visiting from Houston, TX and decided to give this spot a try since it was close to where we were staying. Sushi was delicious and full of flavor, you will not be disappointed. The wait staff was very informative and friendly. The sushi chefs really took great pride in their work and it's reflective upon the quality of the food they prepared. Highly recommended!

Hands down the best Japanese place in Philly! Food is always so fresh and perfectly done! It’s mind blowing! Sit at the bar and ask Alex to surprise you. It’s definitely gonna level up your sushi standards!

Classic sushi joint with fresh fish and daily specials. I tried the boxed sushi roll with eel and salmon, the vegetarian roll, and some maki rolls and they were all delicious. They also had fresh grated wasabi on special. Yum! BYOB. 🍣🥗🍙

Phenomenal maki. Their maki combination is a must order for two or more to share. Clean and simple aesthetics. The staff was very friendly; thank you for a wonderful meal and experience.

This is the best sushi I have ever had in the Philadelphia area, hands down. Everything melts in your mouth. I never knew salmon could taste so amazing. My only complaint is now I can't eat sushi any where else because I know it won't even come close.

This is a GREAT SUSHI BAR!!!😁😁😁 I highly recommend stopping in. The owner's name is Alex and he is very personable. I usually just tell him what kind of flavors i prefer and let him choose what to make. I've never been disappointed!!!

The Owner, Alex, is a sushi samurai master. I have had sushi all over the US & abroad & his sushi is the best I've ever had. He makes his sauces from scratch, knows fish quality at an expert level & his sushi plates are artistic "presentations". If you are in Old City will love it !

Fantastic food in a quaint little location. The fish is fresh and delicious. I did the chefs choice sushi and sashimi, wasn't sure I could eat it all myself, but the fish was such good quality and perfectly proportioned that it 2as no problem!

Great japanese restaurant!

I absolutely loved the dishes and service, awesome location close to my apartment. The staff members are always nice. I highly recommend this place.

In all honesty, I was very disappointed with the portions. The quality was mediocre. I ordered nigiri salmon, striped bass (striper) and a yellowtail roll. Portions we're very small. I spent approximately $35 including tip for what I would equate to an appetizer. I am not from Philadelphia but I frequent sushi bars as I am often traveling for work. Very disappointed to say the least
